Urban Decay Perversion Mascara Review!

In my August Ipsy bag I received a sample of the new Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I have heard a lot of good things about this mascara. I'm super excited to share my thoughts and opinions on it! All the before and after photos will be at the end of the post! :)

(This photo is from the Ipsy website.)

First Impression: I was so excited when I plucked this mascara from my Ipsy bag. The little sample package it came in had the words "Bigger. Blacker. Badder." on the front; that instantly caught my attention! Who doesn't want their lashes to bigger, blacker, or badder?! Those are the qualities I, personally, look for in a mascara.

Application: When I first opened this up, the first thing I noticed that the formula was super wet. When I started to apply it to my lashes It easily coated every lash because it was so wet. It can be somewhat clumpy when you first brush it on but after a few strokes you can easily smooth it out. When you smooth the clumpy spots out it evenly distributes it all over your lashes creating a very volumized look. It also adds a good bit of length. One thing I really like about this mascara is that the wand easily grabs the lashes on the outer corner of your eyes, giving you that winged out effect.

Wear: This mascara does smudge throughout the day. The shape and curl of the lashes hold up nicely, though.
Overall: The results my lashes get from this mascara is BEAUTIFUL! I love the outcome. The only issue I have with this mascara is that it smudges a lot. I hope UD comes out with a waterproof version. I wouldn't advise wearing this on a day when you will be sweating or getting oily because it will smudge. I love the results so much, though, that I would be willing to do a few touch ups throughout the day. If your just going to school, work, or a calm night out, this mascara will get the job done while giving you beautiful glamorous lashes. I am planning on purchasing a full size tube. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants very full dramatic lashes.

*UPDATE!- Sadly, I had to stop using this mascara because it started to irritate my eyes :( I have VERY sensitive eyes, so this is common for me. I gave the sample to my sister and she loves it! It doesn't irritate her eyes at all.

Review: Covergirl Lashblast 24hr Mascara

Silly me! I forgot to take photos of the actual bottle. I got this image from target since that's where I purchased it. You can get here

I recently purchased this mascara at target and I have been using it regularly for about 2 weeks now. I have a few thoughts on it, so I will separate it into the pros and cons about the product. Photos will be after the pros and cons.
Pros:
The formula is amazing in my opinion! Although, there is one minor con I will cover in the section below, it has minimal smudging and it stays on for a very long time. I'm not sure if it lives up to the claim of staying on for 24 hours, but it stays on as long as i need it to. When I remove it, I don't have to struggle, tug, and pull at my lashes like I do with waterproof mascaras. When I was shopping for mascara, I was looking for something with longevity like a waterproof formula, but with a hassle free removal process. This mascara suits my needs perfectly in the "formula" category. Its also very budget friendly since its about $7 and you can usually find Covergirl coupons in the Sunday paper.

Cons:
The minor con about the formula is that it is a bit dry. Its hard to get it on your lashes because the formula isn't very wet. I have to work with it a bit before I get the desired amount of product on my lashes. I would not recommend this if your in a hurry. If you want a dramatic look with some volume I would not recommend this product. I feel it works pretty well for length. If you really work at it for a few minutes you can get some volume, but nothing major. This is perfect for a more natural but, long lash look.

Photos ( not using an eyelash curler):
excuse my unruly eyebrows lol

Review: Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in Shade 300 Apple A Day and 500 Pink Pout

I recently purchased these at Walgreen's. I basically got them for free, they were BOGO 50% and then I also had two coupons for $4 off! Yay! Anyways, I typically wouldn't have bought these because I' not usually very impressed with any of Almay's products. I was excited to try these particular Almay products though, because I've heard many good things about them. This review will be on the red shade, Apple a Day and the pink shade, Pink Pout.

Appearance/Packaging: The color looks very vibrant. The tube is nice and small enough to travel with easily. It had the standard lip gloss doe foot applicator. Overall, the packaging is nice and I see nothing wrong with it at all.  (Apple a day on left; Pink Pout on right.)

Application: When I first saw these I thought t
he color was going to be super vibrant and opaque because of how it looks in the tube., but its actually quite sheer. They are marketed as a liquid lip balm though, and lip balms are quite sheer unlike liquid lipsticks. It gives you a subtle flush of color which I like. Its something that you can throw on quickly without giving it much thought. It is quite moisturizing and comfy on the lips. Its not tacky or sticky. ( apple a day on left; pink pout on right)
Overall: Overall, this product isn't
't too exciting. I do feel like i will be reaching for it a lot though, so I will probably end up loving it. I dont avidly wear super bright opaque lipsticks, I like to stick to the more sheer to medium color, so this product is right up my alley! The only complaint I have is that the two shades I bought are so similar that you can barely tell them apart on the lips. Despite thinking the color payoff was going to be dramatically different than what it turned out to be, I'm pretty happy with this product.  (apple a day on left; pink pout on right)

Item I'm Loving: Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Masque

Recently, I was scrolling through the Sephora website and saw this product on the best sellers section. I was curious so I clicked it. So many reviewers said that this mask literally "sucks the pus" out of zits. As disgusting as that sounds, I also found it extremely fascinating and exciting and knew that I immediately needed to try this product out! Not long after, I purchased it and was not let down! I was blown away by how amazingly this product worked!

Claims: This product claims to clear acne, absorb oil, and deeply cleanse pores with 10% sulfur. It has aloe which is used to soothe the skin. It also contains purifying kaolin & bentonite clays that also help to fight acne.

Appearence/smell: Its light green. It has a slight scent of mint and little sulfur smell. It isn't unpleasant at all in my opinion. It smells really clean and fresh. It is not overpowering in any way. (photos will be at the end of the post)

Why I Love It: It does exactly what It claims. I'm not sure if it actually "sucks the pus" out of my pimples, but it is extremely effective. I will use it and within hours the size and redness of my blemishes will dramatically improve. Another thing I love about this mask is that it doesn't dry my skin out at all! With it being so effective at drying up zits, you would expect it to leave someone with skin like mine (dry & sensitive) with irritated dry patches. It doesn't though! The price is a little steep at $40, but you get a lot of product ( 5 oz) for your money. This is literally the BEST mask I've ever used and I do not plan on wasting my money on any other mask. This product is literally perfect. I highly recommend it to anyone who struggles from any level of acne. On days when I only have a couple of pimples, I will just spot treat each one, but on days when I'm more broke out, I will do a full on face mask! I use this a few times a week.

Some Quick Updates!

I know I haven't posted much lately. I haven't had much time to. Also, I haven't really purchased any new items to review. I've been doing a lot of thinking and I decided that I don't want to just write about beauty and makeup. Don't worry, It still holds a special place in my heart lol, but I would like to branch out and write about some other things that interest me! I have started a new blog! It is more of a lifestyle blog. I will still be using this blog for my makeup reviews and beauty posts, so keep checking back for new content! Lastly I would really like you to check out my new blog though! Click For Happiness!

Thanks!
