2015 Favorites: Part 1! Makeup & Beauty Tools!!

2015 Favorites

Foundation:

I actually have a few favorites in this category because I wear a few different products regularly depending on what activities I'm doing.
  • Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte- When I'm feeling more glam or just putting more effort into my makeup, I reach for this foundation. It has really nice coverage & I don't have to wear a face powder with it. Its a great foundation!
  • Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Stick Foundation- I wear this foundation to work. It is so easy to apply in a hurry. I wear this when I need to look presentable but don't feel like getting out a damp beauty blender or brushes. You can blend this easily and quickly with your fingertips and your good to go! I highly recommend this to anyone who is always running late or on the go!
  • Laura Mercier Powder Foundation- This is another favorite of mine because its another quick option that I find myself reaching for very often. I just apply my concealer first then put a thin layer of this powder foundation all over and it gives you a very natural finish.

BB Cream:

  • Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue BB Cream- This stuff is amazing! Not only is it a great makeup product, but It also is a great skincare product!

Concealer:

  • Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer- Very affordable, great coverage!

Powder:

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Transluscent Pressed Powder! This is a GREAT product! Its been a favorite of mine forever! Its also very affordable!

Bronzer:

  • NYC Sunny Bronzer- sadly I think it has been discontinued :(

Blush:

  • Laura Geller True Color Baked Blush in Bali

Lip Product:

  • Malin & Goetz Lip Balm- This literally cured my lips when they were so dry to the point of cracking and bleeding at the corners. I had tried burts bees, blistex, & numerous others, & this lip balm completely cured my lips!
  • Sephora Cream Stains
  • NYX Butter Lip Sticks

Eyeshadow/Eyeshadow Palette:

  • Urban Decay Naked Palette- IDK why I didn't purchase this sooner, but I reach for it almost every time I apply eye shadow. Its a great palette!

Eyeliner:

  • Kat Von D Tattoo Eye Liner- It is precise, doesn't smudge, & doesn't irritate my eyes! Its the only eyeliner I can wear to work that wont be all under my eyes by the end of the day. You get what you pay for with this product!

Mascara:

  • Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara! Doesn't smudge & doesn't irritate my eyes at all! It also make my eyelashes look amazing!!!!

Eyelash Curler:

  • NYC Eyelash Curler- Its been a favorite for a few years & Its less than $5!

Eye Primer

  • MICA eye primer- I got this in my Ipsy bag & I have used it every time I wear eye shadow! I prefer it over the UD Primer Potion. Unlike the UD primer, it doesn't dry my eyelids out. When I run out I will be repurchasing for sure!

Maybelline Color Elixir Swatches + Review in #065 Caramel Infused & #085 Hibiscus Haven

I recently purchased two of the new Maybelline Color Elixir lip glosses. They are supposed to have the pigmentation of a lipstick, the comfort of a lip balm and the glossiness of a lip gloss.I purchased the shades #065 Caramel Infused (a darker neutral rosy beige) and #085 Hibiscus Haven (a bright magenta-y pink). I was very skeptical about these when they first came out. I'm always very skeptical of drugstore lip glosses since i hardly have any luck with them.My favorite lip glosses of all time are the Buxom lip glosses, but they are somewhat pricey. Prior to my Maybelline purchase, I had received a sample of a Buxom Lip Cream that I loved in the shade Mudslide. I had fully intended on purchasing the full size version of it which would be around $18. One day when i was at the store I noticed the Maybelline display with the Color Elixir lip glosses on it and saw the shade Caramel Infused. It looked IDENTICAL to the Buxom Lip Cream in Mudslide; So, I bought it and the shade Hibiscus Haven.

  • MY THOUGHTS

I have to say these lip glosses are pretty amazing! They do exactly what they claim to do. They are very pigmented, creamy, moisturizing and long lasting. They are also not sticky at all. They are very inexpensive at about $6-$8 compared to the $18 I was willing to dish out for the Buxom Lip Cream. For me, Caramel Infused is the prefect nude shade. It doesn't wash me out like all the other nude shades I've tried. Hibiscus Haven is the perfect girly springtime pink. Its very bright, but not intimidating because you can put on a sheer layer or build it up to be more opaque. They really are perfect.

  • DUPE ALERT!

Caramel Infused is a perfect dupe for the Buxom Mudslide lip cream.

  •  Hibiscus Haven is on top, Caramel Infused is on bottom

Review: Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm #215 Watermelon Twist!

I purchased this item at walgreens. They had a deal, buy one get one half off! So i got one to put in my mom's mother's day gift bag, and i kept the other for myself! hehe :) I got the one called watermelon twist! I really like this product! I think i like it better than the revlon lip stains that look similar to these. The reason why i like the Covergirl version better is because, 1.) its creamier, 2.) its less drying on the lips, 3.) i feel that cover girl has a better selection of colors. I do feel like the staying power could be better. It doesn't say anywhere on the tube that its a stain so that might be why it has less staying power. That also might be why its less drying on the lips as well. Overall i really love this product! The color is GORGEOUS! I definitely want to get more colors!

After the jump are some photos of my lips before and after  i applied Watermelon Twist to my lips. :) Btw... i did this review right before i went to sleep, so i'm in my worn out t shirt and most of my makeup looks like crap because its been on my face literally all day. I just decided to do this review randomly. Just focus on my lips not the rest of my face. :) lol
